Our Pilots

Dave Hewitt

An owner/manufacturer in the auto parts industry (tubular products and assemblies). Dave resides in Woodstock, Ontario, is married, has two boys and has been flying air shows for over 35 years.
Dave first got his pilots license in 1989 when he was 20 years old. His first solo in the Harvard was in 1989. In 1990 he began flying formation in airshows. He flew solo aerobatics at airshows in 1995 and began training as a formation aerobatic pilot in 1998. In 2000 Dave debuted as #2 of the 3 ship Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team.
Dave has over 2500 hours of flight time with over 2000 hours being Harvard time, much of it off the wing of another aircraft. Today Dave flies mostly warbirds or antique aircraft including the Stearman, Harvard, Expediter, Mustang and Hurricane. He also has time in a Pitts Special, RV6, Extra 300L, Citabria, and countless other aircraft totalling over 25 different types.

Preservation/

Dave has dedicated his life to preserving aircraft. His collection over the years has included Harvards, a Stearman, an Expediter 3NM (C45), Pitts, Extra, Citabria, RV6, C185 Amphibian, and Lazair ultralights.

Performance/

Dave has 35 years experience in the airshow industry. He has demonstrated flying excellence since his career began. He has a diverse level of experience, achieving FAST formation leader in 1991, solo aerobatic performer in 1995, Formation Aerobatics (CHAT) from 2000 to 2021. Dave holds an ICAS SAC Solo and Formation Aerobatic Card to the Surface, Unrestricted. Solo Stearman Aerobatic performer. Mustang pilot and 2026 Chief Pilot for Victory Flight.

Passion/

Dave has invested into aviation by giving back to the industry in several ways. He has held positions including Former NECAS President, Manager of the Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Tean, Director of local flying club, Founding Director of the Jet Aircraft Museum, President of Warbirds Canada, and member of the ICAS Ethics Committee.

Dylan Hewitt

Dylan was born into the airshow industry. He attended his first airshow at 2 WEEKS old to watch his father, Dave, of Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team fly their first show. Dylan routinely accompanied his fathers airshow team to airshows where he acted as ground crew, safety pilot, videographer, and on the way home - autopilot. He first began flying at 16 years old and he obtained his license on his 17th birthday. Once licensed Dylan quickly progressed into aerobatics and warbird flying.
Working in Aerospace Engineering and Flight Test Engineering Dylan has studied and evaluated aircraft flight characteristics and design, experience he brings with him to the world of aerobatics to get the top performance from his aircraft. Today, Dylan has his SAC card for 800ft level for solo aerobatics in the Harvard. Debuting for the 2026 season Dylan looks to further build is experience on the airshow circuit as a pilot and entertainer for airshow crowds across the north-east.



3rd Generation Harvard Pilot

His Grandfather was a Harvard pilot in the RCAF and a harvard display pilot throughout the 70's and 80's. Dylan's Father, Dave, is an airshow pilot with over 35 years of airshow experience. Now Dylan as a 3rd generation harvard pilot is taking the legacy on with full force.

Not His First Airshow

With over 8 years of airshow ground crew, media and flight ops experience under his belt, Dylan is now crossing the showline as an airshow pilot. Dylan's media production can be found at highflyinghewitt.ca

In it for Excellence

Dylan comes to the airshow industry as an evolution of his flying experience. He placed 3rd at his first aerobatic competition against 8 seasoned competitors. He has flown aerobatics for years in the Extra 300L, Stearman, and Harvard, and is ready to step it up to the next level with airshow performances.
